DeSantis Gets Shocking News from His Home State – This Has a Huge Impact On 2024

What’s Happening:

It seems like there is plenty of momentum behind the presidential campaign of Ron DeSantis. For months, experts have speculated on DeSantis’s plans. Some claim this rising star of the GOP has what it takes to defeat Joe Biden and retake the White House.

But Donald Trump continues to enjoy massive support from his legion of fans across the nation.

What it will really come down to, though, is a state-by-state battle in the primaries. What are voters thinking of the two men and all the other GOP contenders? One polling firm asked over 1,000 Florida voters what they thought. And the results took the country by surprise.

From The Post Millennial:

A new poll out from Rich Baris’ Big Data shows that former President Donald Trump is not only the GOP frontrunner for the 2024 nomination nationally, but even leads Ron DeSantis in his home state of Florida.

Trump holds 52.5 percent of likely GOP voters in the Sunshine State, while sitting Governor DeSantis has 20 percent less at 32.6 percent.

Oh, I’m sure Trump is already talking about this. Big Data polled 1,236 primary voters in the state of Florida. And based on those who responded, Trump is leading by 52.5 percent with DeSantis twenty points behind at 32.6 percent.

This might not be what people were expecting from DeSantis’s own state. DeSantis is wildly popular in Florida. He turned the once swing state into a solidly red state. He has scored numerous legislative victories that have outraged the left but are popular among residents. And he won re-election in 2022 by a million-vote landslide.

Maybe Floridians don’t want DeSantis elected president, because they want him to stay there?

Regardless, this shows that Trump has a strong lead in the state. It will take quite an effort for DeSantis to gain enough support to win the Florida primaries. But primary voting will start in states like Iowa and New Hampshire. The person that gains support in those early primary states can ride a wave of momentum into the nomination.

The big question, of course, is who has what it takes to defeat Joe Biden? Trump or DeSantis. Voters will have to answer that themselves.

Key Takeaways:

  • Donald Trump is leading Ron DeSantis in a Florida poll, 52%-32%.
  • DeSantis won a huge re-election victory in 2022.
  • DeSantis launched his campaign just weeks ago, with nearly a year before voting.
